booking and cancellation

We accept reservations online here and over the phone (518-989-6404). We take a 50% deposit upon booking which is fully refundable as long as you let us know about your change in plans at least one week in advance. (Ex: by 3pm Friday for a Friday night reservation the next week.) Deposits are kept for cancellations made within that week up to $450. Cancellations made within 24 hours and no-shows are charged in full for the first three nights of the reservation.

 
 
 

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT

Check-in is guaranteed by 3pm but if you're hoping to arrive earlier than that just let us know and we'll do our best to have your room ready for you sooner! Checking in during a time when Room One, our Front Desk and Bar, is not open? No prob! You'll have a note for you in the white mailbox outside Room One's door with your check-in info and your room will be open and ready for you. Check out is at noon. 

 
 
 

KIDS AND PETS

Spruceton Inn is best suited to adults. That said, it’s not a rule written in stone and we have cots available for an additional $40 per night, so drop us a line if you’re thinking about bring along a kiddo. You're welcome to bring pack-n-plays for your itty bitty ones.

Your pet is probably super cool, but unfortunately not everybody’s pets play well together, so we have a NO PET policy.

Hoping to hold a block of rooms for your event elsewhere in the Catskills? We're sorry to say that we only hold rooms for on-site events. That said, your guests are more than welcome to book individually.

FAQs:

  • We have 9 rooms, each with one queen size bed, plus 2 twin size cots. So depending on if anyone would like to bunk up we have space for 9-20 people maximum. 6 of our rooms are Kitchenettes, 3 are Standards. You can see more room details here.

  • You can book up to 5 rooms OR all 9.

  • We have 8 acres of land (including several fire pits and charcoal grills) right next to the State Park and we're only two miles away from some great trailheads. This makes for lots of wonderful outdoor opportunities! We are perfectly situated for easy group hikes, just two miles from the trailheads for Hunter Mountain and West Kill Mountain. There's everything from a 20 minute mostly flat walk to a waterfall to a full 4.5 hour mountain loop.

  • We have a 1200 square foot Barn with a patio you are welcome to use between the hours of 8:30am and 7pm during the week and 8:30am-10pm on the weekend. It is furnished with two large tables and chairs for 12 as well as several (removable) hammocks. The Barn itself has two bathrooms, a small bar prep area, and electricity, however please keep in mind there is no heating system which means the Barn is best suited to events that take place from June through early October. Outside of those dates it’s quite chilly and the water system is shut off.

  • We do NOT have a restaurant site. Room One serves small snacks during its hours of operation that are available for purchase a la carte. For group dinners we recommend either a) everyone fends for themselves b) a pot-luck style group BBQ (we've got 5 charcoal grills on site) or c) head to one of the nearby restaurants such as the Peekamoose or Jagerberg who excel at this. Our usual complimentary morning Café Grumpy Coffee and Pop-Tarts are of course included as well. You are also welcome to bring in outside caterers as well for no extra fee, we'll just need to pre-approve the arrangements.

  • Room One, our Front Desk and Bar is open from 8:30-10:30am for coffee service and 4-7pm for bar service Monday through Thursday, 8:30-10:30am and 4-11pm on Fridays, 8:30am-11pm on Saturdays, and 8:30am-12pm and 4-7pm on Sundays. We might be able to adjust our Front Desk and Bar hours to accommodate your group plans if desired/feasible. (For example, we could do coffee from 8-9am and the bar from 5-8pm to allow for a more full day etc.) It has seating for 6 with a legal maximum capacity for 13.

  • We can get a bonfire going for you all in the evenings at any of our multiple fire pits dotted across the property. We also have s'mores supplies available for purchase at our bar in Room One.

  • And speaking of Bar purchases: for weekend full Inn rentals, we have a $250 bar minimum. After that, your party will be able to purchase any drinks/snacks from the bar a la carte. If you're interested in BYOB'ing (or arranging for a limited open bar), that can be arranged for a corkage fee we will determine in your contract. There is no minimum bar charge for weeknight Inn buy-outs.

  • We are NOT located near public transportation. The nearest would be the Trailways Bus stop in Phoencia which then requires a 20 minute cab ride that must be booked in advance and often costs as much as $75. Not impossible, it just takes more planning ahead. You can see more details about that here.
